Emilia Sofia "Mildred" Lagowski

Emilia Sofia "Mildred" Lagowski was the daughter of Adam Lagowski and Teresa Sleczka. She married Walter Frank Jach, son of Josephine (--?--), on 2 August 1919 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States.1 She married Michael Mathew Malley, son of Mathew Malley and Mary Cermak, on 10 August 1929 at Bellaire, Belmont, Ohio, United States.2 Emilia died on 1 April 1982 at Massillon, Stark, Ohio, United States, at age 81.
Emilia immigrated to United States arriving on 6 April 1912 at New York, New York, United States.3 Emilia's occupation: Pressworker - Steel Mill at Bellaire, Belmont, Ohio, United States, in 1930. She was naturalized as a citizen of the United States on 17 May 1944 at Saint Clairsville, Belmont, Ohio, United States.2

On January 1, 1901, Emilia Sofia Lagnowski, daughter of Adam Lagowski and Teresa Sleczka was baptized in the Cathedral of the Divine Savior in Moravia Ostrava, Austria (now Ostrava, Czech Republic). Emilia Sofie was born on Christmas day, 25 December 1900 as listed on the baptismal record. At that time they were living in house 240 in Marianberg, a village adjacent to Moravia Ostrava.
On 5 June 1912, Emilia Lagoska age 10, arrived at the port of New York aboard the SS KrownPrincess Cecilia sailing from Bremen with her step-mother Marie and her siblings. They were going to join her Father in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, who had immigrated there in 1911.
In the 1930 Census of Belmont County Ohio census Emila is enumerated as Mildred Malley, age 28, as the wife of Michel Malley, age 33, head of family, and two sons, John Malley 9, and Walter Malley 8, at 3430 Oak Alley in Bellaire, Ohio. The census taker erred in listing John Malley where he should have listed Joseph Malley. This is the first record showing Emila had adopted the name Mildred.
On 17 May 1944, Emilia Lagowska became a naturalized citizen of the United States under the name of Mildred Mally.

We believe the children listed below include all of their children. All of the children were born in Italy before they immigrated to the US.
