     Vernon L. Kirkland was the son of Archie B. Kirkland and Ruth M. Shanks. Vernon died in March 1975 at California, United States, at age 51.¹

     Howard A. Kirkland was the son of Archie B. Kirkland and Ruth M. Shanks. Howard died on 11 June 1997 at Chino, San Bernardino, California, United States, at age 67.¹

     Irene Kirkland was the daughter of T. B. Kirkland and Mary N. Kelly.

     He married Lillian Bullard, daughter of Asa Bullard and Jane Sarah Wicks, circa 1895 at Ottawa, Michigan, United States.¹

     He married Susannah Bullard, daughter of Asa Bullard and Jane Sarah Wicks, circa 1892 at Ottawa, Michigan, United States.¹

     He married Jane Webb, daughter of Jacob Webb and Ruth Hull, circa 1830 at New York, United States. Samuel died before 1860 at Genesee, New York, United States.
     Biography of Samuel Bullard:

The earliest record we have for Samuel Bullard is his name is listed in an 1836 index of tax payers in the Michigan Territory. This suggests that Samuel was in Michigan as early as 1836, but probably not before 1832 as his son, Asa, was born in New York in 1832. He was thus in Michigan before it became a State in January of 1837.

     Samuel Bullard is next found in the 1840 Census of the Town of Van Buren, Wayne County, Michigan where he is listed as the Head of Household, male, age 30-40, with 1 female age 20-30 (likely Jane) and one male age 5-10 (likely Asa). [U. S Census of Wayne County, Michigan, NARA Pub. M704, Roll 212, p. 258.] Living nearby is a William Ballard age 30-40 and family who could be related.

     The next record we have found is the family of Samuel Bullard who was enumerated in the 1850 Federal Census of Genesee County, New York. They were living in the Town of Elba. Samuel gave his age as 43, his occupation as Mason and indicated he was born in New York State. Living with him was Jane Bullard, age 34 born in NY; Asa Bullard, age 18, occupation Mason, born in NY; Ellen L. Bullard, age 9 born Michigan and Helen L. age 9 born Michigan. (1850 U. S. Census of Genesee Co., New York, NARA Pub. M432, Roll 508, p. 343, Dw. 1913, Fm. 2003, 27 September 1850] This census record suggests that Samuel was living in Michigan about 1841 based on the birth of his two (apparently twin) daughters and that prior to 1850 returned to New York.
     
     Samuel Bullard was not found in a search of the 1860 Census of New York or Michigan, although his son, Asa was found in Genesee County, New York in the 1860 Census. This suggests that Samuel died before 1860, likely in New York. A search of Genesee and surrounding counties on-line cemetery records did not reveal his grave site.

     Jane Webb was the daughter of Jacob Webb and Ruth Hull. She married Samuel Bullard, circa 1830 at New York, United States.

     Helen Louisa Bullard was the daughter of Samuel Bullard and Jane Webb. She married John Hezekiah Boone, son of William Boone and Sarah Plotz, circa 1861.¹

     Ellen L. Bullard was the daughter of Samuel Bullard and Jane Webb. She married Milton Wolverton, son of Johnathan Wolverton and Nancy Boone, circa 1860 at Blissfield, Lenawee, Michigan, United States.¹

     Thomas Widup was the son of William Widup. He married Elizabeth Lancaster, daughter of Wright Lawrence Lancaster and Sarah J. Bryant, on 10 September 1819 at Wayne, Indiana, United States. Thomas died on 19 August 1863 at Kosciusko, Indiana, United States, at age 65. His body was buried at Circle Cemetery, Monroe Township, Kosciusko, Indiana, United States.¹

     Elizabeth Lancaster was the daughter of Wright Lawrence Lancaster and Sarah J. Bryant. She married Thomas Widup, son of William Widup, on 10 September 1819 at Wayne, Indiana, United States. Elizabeth died on 17 August 1839 at Kosciusko, Indiana, United States, at age 41. Her body was buried at Circle Cemetery, Monroe Township, Kosciusko, Indiana, United States.¹

     He married Sarah J. Bryant, circa 1791 at Wayne, North Carolina, United States. Wright died on 21 August 1826 at Richmond, Wayne, Indiana, United States, at age 64.

     She married Wright Lawrence Lancaster, circa 1791 at Wayne, North Carolina, United States. Sarah died on 1 June 1860 at Richmond, Wayne, Indiana, United States, at age 88.

     He married Nancy Sawyer, circa 1832.

     She married Tobias Summer, circa 1850 at Ohio, United States. She married Henry Booze, son of James Boze and Mary (--?--), on 9 January 1859 at Kosciusko, Indiana, United States.

     He married Catherine Anne (--?--), circa 1850 at Ohio, United States. Tobias died on 1 April 1856 at Kosciusko, Indiana, United States. His body was buried at Studybaker Cemetery, Jackson Township, Kosciusko, Indiana, United States.¹
