     Sarah Adeline Tompkins was the daughter of William P. Tompkins and Mary Ann Sheppard. She married Stephen B. Tompkins, son of James M. Tompkins and Eliza Ann King, on 25 November 1867 at Washington, Georgia, United States.¹ Sarah died before 1880 at Washington, Georgia, United States.

     Doncilla Elizabeth Tompkins was the daughter of William P. Tompkins and Mary Ann Sheppard.

     Cynthia A. Tompkins was the daughter of William P. Tompkins and Mary Ann Sheppard. She married George W. Lord, on 29 October 1871 at Washington, Georgia, United States.¹ Cynthia died before 1890 at Washington, Georgia, United States.²

Known as "Tom Mary" to distingush him from his first cousin with the same name. His cousin was William Thomas Tompkins (1861-1929) son of Robert T. Tompkins and Laura Louisa Jane Brock who was known as "Tom Rob".

     Thomas John Tanner was the son of Solomon Francis Tanner and Elizabeth Tompkins. He married Mary Jane Tompkins, daughter of William P. Tompkins and Mary Ann Sheppard, on 25 April 1868 at Washington, Georgia, United States.¹ He died circa 1891 at Washington, Georgia, United States. He was buried in 1891 at Tanner Family Cemetery, near Tabernacle Church, Washington, Georgia, United States.

     William Henry "Willie" Tanner was the son of Thomas John Tanner and Mary Jane Tompkins. He married Mary Augusta "Gussie" Fleetwood.¹ He died on 3 December 1923 at age 56.¹

     John Morgan Tanner was the son of Thomas John Tanner and Mary Jane Tompkins. He married Minnie Lee Scott, daughter of Tom Scott and Becky Scott, in 1889 at Washington, Georgia, United States.¹ He died on 21 March 1933 at Winter Haven, Polk, Florida, United States, at age 61.¹
