William Jason Tompkins and family moved into Stewart County, Georgia from Marion Co. Georgia by 1870 as they appear on p. 169 of the 1870 Stewart County Census. William Jason remained in Stewart County until his death in 1908.

     Sarah Elizabeth Tompkins was the daughter of John Young Tompkins and Sarah O'Quinn. She married William John Brooks, son of Robert Brooks and Elizabeth Barwick, on 6 July 1851 at Washington, Georgia, United States.¹ Sarah died circa 1865 at Washington, Georgia, United States.² She was buried in 1865 at Washington, Georgia, United States.¹

Samuel B. W. Tompkins served as a Private in the Confederate Army. He enlisted in Company G, 46th Regiment, Muscogee Co. Georgia Volunteers on 27 April 1862. He died in Charleston, South Carolina 6 June 1862.

     Emilia Araminta Tompkins was the daughter of John Young Tompkins and Sarah O'Quinn.
