We believe Nancy to be the oldest daughter of David R. Townsend and his wife, Nancy Burmett who are buried in Maypop Cemetery, Lafayette Co., Florida. David is the son of John Townsend of Marlboro Co., SC and moved into Madison Co., Florida in the early 1830's. He is the brother of Allen Townsend of Madison Co., Florida. The Boatright family were living in the area west of Cherry Lake, Madison County, Florida during the 1840's as were the David Townsend famiy.

     George W. Boatright was the son of Benjamin Boatright and Nancy Townsend. He married Olive Savage, on 9 April 1871 at Orange, Florida, United States.¹ George died circa 1891.

     Mary Angeline Boatright was the daughter of Benjamin Boatright and Nancy Townsend. She married Daniel Johnson, on 2 August 1879 at Columbia, Florida, United States.¹ Mary died circa 1881 at Columbia, Florida, United States.

     John William Boatright was the son of Benjamin Boatright and Nancy Townsend. He married Mary M. Taylor, on 1 May 1883 at Columbia, Florida, United States.¹ John died on 19 June 1935 at DeSoto, Florida, United States, at age 77. His body was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, DeSoto, Florida, United States.
