Chesley John Daniel Boatright (1793-1859) was born in Collerton County, South Carolina where his family had likely resided since before the Revolutionary War. By 1818, Chesley J. D. Boatright (1793-1859) had moved with his parents and siblings into Wayne County, Georgia where he met and married Rachel Geiger. By the 1830's Chesley J. D. Boatright had moved his family into Leon County, Florida and by the mid 1830's was in Madison County, Florida until his death in 1859. Many of his descendants still live in the area of Suwannee County having moved into that county after the Civil War.

     Rachel Geiger was the daughter of Felix Geiger Sr. and Mary Margaret Martin. She married Chesley John Daniel Boatright, son of Benjamin Boatright and Martha Walker, on 16 July 1818 at Wayne, Georgia, United States. Rachel died before 1900.
