Daniel Clifton is the adopted son of Daniel Kelly and his wife, Sally Clifton. Daniel Clifton is the biological son of John Clifton, brother of Sally Clifton. John Clifton died about 1804, leaving three children: Daniel b. 1795, Reuben Brown b. 1800 and Noah b. 1804, who were adopted by Daniel Kelly and Sally Clifton. Daniel retained his Clifton surname his entire life. However, Reuben Brown and Noah adopted the Kelly surname and were known as Reuben Brown Kelley and Noah Clifton Kelly their entire lives.

     Catherine Watts was the daughter of Presley Watts and Catharine Matilda Heard. She married Noah Clifton Kelly, son of Daniel Kelly and Sally Clifton, on 30 November 1824 at Morgan, Georgia, United States.¹ She died on 17 September 1870 at Henry, Georgia, United States, at age 64. She was buried in September 1870 at Henry, Georgia, United States.

     Eliza Ledbetter married Daniel Clifton, son of Daniel Kelly and Sally Clifton, on 4 July 1826 at Greene, Georgia.¹ She died.
