     Biography of Johann Martin Wunsch:

We know very little about Martin Wunch. He was christened at the Catholic Church in Gernsbach, Baden in 1760. All his children, by both wives, were christened in Gernsbach which clearly shows they were living in Gernsbach at that time. Interestingly, for some unknown reason he married both his wives in Bruchsal, Baden (some 30 miles north of Gernsbach) although his wives appear to be from Gernsbach.

     Margaretha Kuehmer was born on 31 October 1767 at Gernsbach, Rastatt, Baden, Germany.^1,2 She was the daughter of Casper Kuehmer and Anna Maria Schiel. She married Johann Martin Wunsch, son of Johannes Martin Wunsch and Anna Margaretha Fritz, on 30 March 1794 at Bruchsal, Baden, Germany.^1,3

     Simon Wunsch was born before 25 February 1795 at Hilpertsau, Rastatt, Baden, Germany.¹ He was the son of Johann Martin Wunsch and Margaretha Kuehmer. He married Bernadina Stramm on 9 February 1819 at Hilpertsau, Rastatt, Baden, Germany.² He died on 18 December 1861 at Hilpertsau, Rastatt, Baden, Germany.¹
