     Ben was born on 6 October 1941.2 He was the son of Ben Breven Merritt and Janie Mae Rodgers. He married Marie Lee. Ben died on 18 December 1998 at Thomasville, Thomas, Georgia, United States, at age 57. His body was buried at Macedonia Cemetery, Madison, Florida, United States.
