George Washington Tompkins (M)

     George was born on 17 November 1876 in Suwannee Co., Florida.1 He was the son of Benjamin Tompkins and Josephine C. Carroll. He married Julia Vella Padgett, on 12 December 1898 in Suwannee Co., Florida.2 He married Mattie Florance Jackson,daughter of John Kirby Jackson and Elizabeth Jane Hufham on 27 October 1904 in Lafayette Co., Florida.3 George died on 29 October 1960 in Gainesville, Alachua Co., Florida, at age 83.4 His body was buried in October 1960.5
     George's occupation: Farmer.
