Parker was the son of Jasper Parker. Jasper Parker's wife was Lolar. Children of Jasper and Lolar Parker were (1) Taft Parker, (2) Fred P. Parker, (3) Masie Parker, (4) Della (Parker) (Pert) Carroll, and (5) Lillie (Parker) Armstead. Jasper Parke built his log home in 1885. It was located in the middle of the farm on the highway running from Mayo Junction to Dowling Park. He had a cistern to furnish water for the house. His pump was still in use in the 1960"......" " Jasper Parker was shot at a county frolic (party) - some people say it was a knife duel - at the old Ben Hightower farm about 3 1/2 miles Southeast o Day, in Lafayette County, by Bill Lyle, who was drunk. Jasper's wife Lolar had urged him not to go to the frolic, but he went anyway. After the shooting, with a lot of commotion around, Bill Lyle asked what all the commotion was about. Upon being informed that he had just shot Jasper Parker, he expressed amazement, "What, did I shoot my best friend?" He was so drunk he didn't even know what he had done. Jasper Parker, after being shot, and not knowing how serious the wound was, expressed the desire to go home to see one of the children. Several fellows, including Tom Fielding, were taking him home in a wagon. When they got to the creek just North of Mayo Junction, Jasper wanted to get out of the wagon and lie down for a few minutes. He died while lying there. The year of Jasper's death was 1895. Lolar remarried Mack Newmans, Burton Clard, a fourth husband, then died a widow."

John was born circa 1808 at South Carolina.1 He married Honor Smith, circa 1826 at South Carolina.1 John died circa 1866 at Suwannee Co., Florida.
John's occupation: Farmer. Biography of John H. Parker: John H. Parker was born in South Carolina. He likely spent his early life in South Carolina (probably Edgefield District) until about 1837 when he moved to Georgia. He moved into Columbia County, Florida about 1844. (This being based on the birthplaces of his children.) He appears with his family in the 1850 Census of Columbia County, Florida and in the 1860 census of Suwannee County, which was formed out of Columbia County in 1858. The last records we have found about him were in November of 1863 when John H. Parker was listed as "State vs. John H. Parker - Defaulting Juror. Discharged on payment of cost." and on 1 May 1865 when John H. Parker answered to a list of jurors at the door of the courthouse. [Book 1 - Suwannee County Florida Court Minutes - Jan 1860- Nov 1878 as abstracted in Summer Vol. XII - 2003 No. 3 or the Suwannee Valley Genealogical Society Newsletter.] No record of him was found in the 1870 Suwannee County Florida Census and he was not listed on the August 1867 of voters in Suwannee County Florida. We thus conclude that he likely died in Suwannee County, Florida circa 1866 and is buried there.
