     Josef was born on 25 November 1884 at Janovice 28, Chrudim, Bohemia, Austria.1,2 He was the son of Karel Buřval and Anna Horenovska. He married Anna Frances Klos, daughter of Frank Klos and Hannah (--?--), on 17 January 1907 at Žleby, Kutná Hora, Bohemia, Austria. Josef died on 6 May 1980 at Holy Family Hospital, Des Plaines, Cook, Illinois, United States, at age 95.3 His body was buried on 9 May 1980 at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines, Cook, Illinois, United States.

Biography of Josef František Buřval:
Josef Burval was born in Janovice, Okres Chrudim, Czech Republic, a small town about 30 miles east of Prague. He started his training as a blacksmith at Blacksmith School at Olomouc at age of 14. He completed that training at age 17 and accepted his first job as a blacksmith. In 1905, At age 20 he entered military service. He completed that service in 1908. He and his new wife left Janovice via Bremen, Germany in 1909, arriving in New York on 24 March 1909 aboard the vessel Kaiser Wilhelm Grosse. Upon arrival they proceeded to Voorheesville, New York to serve out their contract with a Voorheesville farmer who paid their transportation to the United States. In March, 1910, after a year of serving their contract they left Voorheesville with their 4 month old daughter and made their way to Chicago.

Josef found work in Chicago at the Variety Fire Door Co. as a sheet metal worker. He later went to work for the McCormick Plant as a blacksmith and worked there for over 40 years until his retirement. His three sons were born in Chicago. In September 1924, he moved his family to 1501 So. Des Plaines Avenue. He lived there the rest of his life. He enjoyed his garden plot every year and had a great love for all sport shows on television, especially the Chicago Cubs and Sox games.

He petitioned for and received his naturalization certificate (No. 4664864) as a citizen of the United States on 20 Oct 1939 from the U. S. District Court in Chicago.

He died at age 95 on 6 May 1980 and is buried in Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois alongside his wife Anna.

Anna was born and raised in the town of Zleby. Bohemia. Josef met her there and they married 17 Jan 1907. They lived there for a short time before deciding to immigrate to the United States in March of 1907. Only Anna's mother knew they were departing for America because of the rumors of war at the time. Anna lived to age 82 and is buried in Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois next to her husband.

He married Gladys Jean Osborn, daughter of Patrick Osborn and Stella Durbin, on 26 March 1947 at Hillsboro, Montgomery, Illinois, United States.2 Frank died on 9 January 1989 at Holy Family Hospital, Des Plaines, Cook, Illinois, United States, at age 68. Biography of Frank Burval:
Frank was a graduate of Maine Township High School East and found an early love for farming and hog production. He also grew up learning the blacksmith trade, welding, and ornamental iron work from his father. Frank entered the U.S. Navy as a "Seebee" in December 1942 serving to the end of World War II. After the war he began work as a blacksmith at the International Harvester Co.. He worked there for 30 years before retiring. Frank was a diligent and hard worker always providing for his family. He was especially a man of strong conviction in regard to tradition of family and togetherness, desiring only the best for his family. He died in 1989 of a heart attack at age 68. He is buried in Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
