William Tompkins

     William Tompkins was born circa 1752. He was the son of Thomas Tompkins and Mary (--?--).
     Biography of William Tompkins:
We have included William Tompkins found in tthe 1800 Census of Chesterfield Co. SC as being a "possible' son of Thomas Tompkins because he is the only Tompkins found still living in the area that the Tompkin's famiy had lived in since 1741. All the other sons of Thomas had died or move out of fhe area by then. Further work is required to verify this connction.
